Secure KVM Extenders NIAP 4.0

Operation of secure KVM extender

Secure extenders are essential in sensitive environments as they allow for the physical separation of workstations from critical systems while ensuring reliable remote access.

By integrating hardware isolation mechanisms, they prevent any unauthorized transmission — whether it be data, USB signals, or audio information — thus blocking the risks of leaks, malware injection, or eavesdropping.

Thanks to these security barriers, extenders ensure the integrity of systems, limit attack vectors, and ensure strict separation between environments with different levels of sensitivity. Their use therefore provides a level of protection far superior to that of a standard KVM, while maintaining smooth and ergonomic operation of remote equipment.

Access to different classification levels – Zoning

Thesecure extendersplay an essential role in the operational implementation ofzoning, ensuring a material and controlled separation between distinct security environments.

Zoning requires compartmentalizing a system into homogeneous and protected zones, with strictly controlled inter-zone flows in accordance with the requirements of the standard IEC 62443, which makes segmentation intozones and conduitsa fundamental principle to limit the spread of an attack and ensure defense in depth.

Secure extenders adhere to this logic by ensuring a physical and logical isolation of USB, video, and audio signals, and by preventing any unauthorized communication between network segments – a requirement that is also central to the certifications IEC 15408 / Common Criteria and NIAP profiles, which impose strict isolation between classification domains to prevent any leakage or cross-contamination.

Thanks to their hardware isolation mechanisms, interface control, and unidirectional flow limitations, secure extenders thus constitute a trusted component that enables the implementation of robust zoning, protects sensitive areas against unauthorized access, and ensures consistent compliance with international cybersecurity standards.

KVM Extenders certified EAL4+ and NIAP PP4.0

Secure extenders KVMA from IHSE provide latency-free transmission of keyboard-video-mouse-audio signals with hardware isolation, ensuring advanced protection against leaks, intrusions, and code injections while providing 24/7 availability for critical environments. Their modular design and compatibility with Draco Tera matrices allow for flexible integration and reliable separation of sensitive environments.

On the other hand, the secure HSL extenders offer a complete isolation of video and USB signals, a read-only emulated EDID and compliance NIAP PP4.0, ensuring extension by preventing any attempt at compromise via devices or the display channel.
